Shouldn't we place a link on the forum's frontpage aiming to the colony game
so that guests actually know what we are talking about

The must is to link the banneer with colony ...

Normally the banner links to the forum and guest's won't know that they have to press the banner.
there should be a link at a good visible spot

Er... as far as I know there is a link just below the banner. But you have to copy n' paste in into your URL box...
